PART-TIME CLASSROOM ASSISTANT

Description

Lancaster County Academy (LCA) is a joint high school with 11-member school districts and serves approximately 80 students. LCA offers two locations: HACC (East) and Cross Roads Church (West).

We are looking for a committed, part-time classroom assistant with an interest in working with students at risk of dropping out of high school. The Classroom Assistant will work alongside our teachers to provide support for students and help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. The overall goal for Academy staff is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the process of earning a high school diploma.

Commitment

• Approximately 15 in-person hours per week

Requirements/Skills

• High school diploma
• Patience, energetic, and flexibility
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude
• Experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting
• Pervious work serving and passion for at-risk students a plus

PART-TIME SOCIAL STUDIES/FAMILY AND CONSUMER TEACHER

Description

We are looking for a committed, part-time social studies/family and consumer science instructor with an interest in working with students at risk of dropping out of high school. Teachers work independently with students on previously developed coursework. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the process of earning a high school diploma.

Commitment

• Ability to work at both locations
• Approximately 12 in-person hours per week

Requirements/Skills

• PA secondary education certification required
• Social studies certification preferred
• Creative, energetic, and flexible
• Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
• Experience serving and passion for at-risk students a plus
